Monthly update - July 2010

Time for my latest update on what I have earned in July 2010.  I can't believe it is that soon already, but it is.

This month was another month in which I created very little new material, and also I did very little in the way of backlinking and so my earnings this month can once again be pretty much classed as residual.  I did a very small amount of backlinking but that was it.  So here are my earnings and as usual only those sites which earned me something are included.

Hubpages: $122.61 (8% decrease over June 2010)
Infobarrel: $0.18 (69% decrease)
Redgage: $0.11 (57% increase)
Shetoldme: $0.53 (No earnings last month)

As can be seen from the above, I had a decrease in earnings, with some sources of income such as Webanswers and Xomba having exactly no earnings during July.  This was disappointing, but hopefully the numbers will increase over the coming months.  I am hoping that due to the small amount of traffic that I get this is just a statistical swing.  I also have a long standing aim now that my earnings are increasing to have a month where every day my Adsense earnings exceed $1 - this month was the closest I have come yet with the only day when I earned less than $1 from Adsense was 31st July where I only earned $0.97!

You may remember my targets from my June 2010 earnings update -  well as you can see I didn't reach $150 combined and neither did I reach $5 from Xomba - in fact I was as far aware as I could possibly be.  This is disappointing, but considering I did no work in July 2010 to still manage to keep my decrease in earnings to under 10% is uplifting and I feel this shows the true potential of residual income.  I hope to be able to do more work during August and so I hope to reach earnings of $150 and also keep daily Adsense earnings above $1 every day!  I am also getting very close to having lifetime Hubpages earnings of $1000 and so I hope to hit this amount during August 2010.

Were your July 2010 earnings more successful than mine?  Have any tips on how I am going wrong?  As always use the comment box below!

  1. Those are some good numbers for hubpages. I plan on getting into adsense much more later on in the future. I am not even sure how much I made in total online income last month but it was good for the amount of work I did. I see you work with surveys and articles. I have had some good experience with them in the past and even now. If you ever want to chat, let me know and I can give you some tips.

  2. Meka thanks for commenting. My Hubpages numbers are really my one bright spot at the present stage. I am trying to diversify, but so far this has come to nothing but hopefully sometime I will get round to it!

  3. Well, considering you did very little work this month, your did very well! Anything you earn as residual income is great in my book, but I'm sure once you start putting in the hours those numbers will rise as well. I'm very impressed with your hubpages earnings, by the way!

  4. Michelle I also hope that if I do work I will start to earn more. I reckon I only spent about 2 hours last month on my online income (most of that writing a couple of posts on this blog) and so there is definitely room for improvement, but on the positive it meant I earned over $60 an hour (for June 2010 at least!). Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

  5. That is a good hourly wage when you look at it like that. You are still making more than me overall, but I did have a better July than June. My traffic is up somewhat at HubPages. I have many days under $1 still and look forward to that day when I can claim each day is greater than that mark.

Here is to getting more work done in August.

  6. Kidgas, it is good that at least someone's earnings are heading in the right direction! From reading your blog it seems like you yourself did not manage to do a lot of online work so for that reason the improvement in earnings if even better!

  7. If you only did two hours work last month like you said above in the comments then that's great! I love the fact that the money still comes even when you leave everything and don't add anything new. I think your Hubpages earnings really are great. Are you planning on writing any more Hubs?

  8. Ruth, that is all I did. Work for the last few months tends to be limited to writing posts on my blog (of which there aren't actually that many!) and replying to comments. I will probably produce some more hubs - hoping to get to 50 within a couple of months!

  9. I think you saw my July earnings were down also. I've been busy and haven't done much work but I expected to hold a bit more steady. I'm hoping some of it is a summer thing but we shall see. Either way, there is work to do!

  10. Yeah I saw your July earnings were also down as have several other people - it may be just a summer thing (I suppose many people are on holidays etc).

  11. Hi there,
I see that your passive income has been successful too. Especially if you only spent a couple of hours doing some work for the month of July.
I noticed that your hubpage earnings are great and you only have 46 hubs at the mo. What is your secret?
    Good luck for August.

  12. TTC, I don't really have a secret when it comes to Hubpages - guess I have just been relatively lucky with a couple of my hubs getting massive traffic. I also think it helps that the majority of my hubs are around a year old or older - they definitely age well!

  13. Bristolboy, hey this is again your anonymous fan. Time and lifestyle come in the way of huge success and earnings. Nevertheless it is a good feeling to have achieved the secrets of the game and knowledge in a lesser time span. Bristolboy with the qlty of hubs you have given time you will gear up with earnings again.

Secondly you are bang on with the theory of aging, my older hubs are outsmarting both in traffic in revenue.

Wishes for more earnings and time on your hand to achieve your milestones.

  14. Anonymous thanks for taking the time to drop by and comment. I am hoping to be able to dedicate more time to writing hubs, infobarrels etc this month but so far I am yet to get the chance!

  15. Hey...Was enjoying this blog; it's always nice to hear from fellow Brits as well as the ubiquitous (in IM) Americans. Dave's blog Making Money on the Internet is a damn fine read, if you haven't seen it already.

But no posts from you for months! Where have you been? Has real life got in the way of Internet Marketing? And have you had any issues with Hubpages suddenly getting all 'ethical' and banning backlinking?

  16. Hi Craig,

I shall update again soon - real life has got in the way! Should have some news which will really motivate people to use Hubpages etc though!

    Thanks for checking by!
